A 64-bit OS and processor are required. The minimum targets an average of 30 FPS at 720p on low settings; a dedicated GPU is recommended for a smoother experience, and performance varies with system configuration and thermals.
Can my PC run it? Quick checklist
- Quad-core CPU from ~2014 or later (i5-4460 / FX-8350 class): You meet the minimum. Expect playable framerates at 720p low.
- 8 GB RAM or more: You hit the recommended bar comfortably.
- Integrated graphics only (Intel UHD / Vega 8): Supported at minimum settings — this is one of the rare sims that runs on integrated graphics, though a dedicated GPU is smoother.
- GTX 1060 / RX 580 or better: You're at recommended and can push higher settings.
Laptop notes
IRON NEST is unusually light. The 4 GB RAM floor is the part to watch on very old ultrabooks, but most laptops from 2016 onward clear it. The bigger limit is heat: sustained firing means sustained computation, and thin laptops may thermal-throttle. A dedicated GPU helps more than raw CPU here.
Controllers & input
The game has full controller support, including DualShock and DualSense, and is explicitly playable without timed input — there's no reflex test, just methodical operation. Mouse-and-keyboard works too, and color-alternative and custom-volume accessibility options are included.
Platforms
IRON NEST is a Windows PC title on Steam (a free demo is also available). It is single-player; there is no crossplay or multiplayer to consider.
